LPGA Sets Dates for 2018 Portland Classic
The LPGA has released its full 2018 tournament schedule with the 2018 Cambia Portland Classic slated for August 30 through September 2, 2018, as expected.
Last month, Cambia Health Solutions announced the extension of its title sponsorship of the LPGA’s Portland Classic for three more years, through the 2020 event.
Entering its 47th year, the Cambia Portland Classic is the longest running non-major event on the LPGA Tour. The 72-hole tournament will again return to Portland’s Columbia Edgewater Country Club and will feature a purse of $1.3 million. The tournament will again be televised by the Golf Channel and distributed to more than 170 countries.
“We are looking forward to having Stacy Lewis return to defend her Portland Classic title,” said Tom Maletis, Chairman of tournament organizer Tournament Golf Foundation. “And, with the LPGA taking an off-week following our event, we expect another very strong field.”
Since its inception in 1972, the Portland Classic has been bringing the top women golfers from around the world to Portland, raising more than $18 million for charities, and has become the premier annual professional golf tournament in the Pacific Northwest.
